Dear Carolina

I think the JNC are the ones to respond to this question.

This is the IRP Coalition; as with Best Bits and the IGC there are
overlaps but also distinctions between memberships so to speak on key
points. I have never assumed a post implies endorsement rather a
communication, and fyi, a request and so on.

If a list forwards an announcement or item this does not imply
endorsement or agreement per se. As far as I know, this caveat applies
to all the lists I have been, or are a part of. If email lists were to
proceed as if everything carried on them has been automatically
endorsed, or assumes all on the list agree with the item, then we would
all have inboxes that would be considerably less full! :)) Moreover, the
sharing of news and developments by this method would be considerably
curtailed if agreement had to be either assumed or obtained before
sharing it.

But this is my view. The IRPC list is open to all to post on and to date
i.e. over 6 years we have had a range of posts, some scintillating
debates despite strong disagreements, and we have managed to get
substantial work done.

best
MF
