Dear all
Am resending this message as will follow up shortly with overview of
Civil Society candidates who are standing via other networks (and for
which this candidature has specific criteria).
As some but not all of you on this list may know, the IGF
Multistakeholder Group (MAG) is calling for new members. This, large and
diverse, group is charged with organizing the programme of the annual
IGF meetings. In order to new members to be appointed a nomination
process is no underway.
The deadline for (self)nominations is 20 November. The information is
here
http://www.intgovforum.org/cms/component/content/article/125-preparatory-process/1459-mag-renewal-2014
At present there are discussions across several lists (the IRP, Best
Bits, Internet Governance Caucus, and others) about whether there can be
a coordinated effort to select nominees. Whilst this discussion takes
shape and given the short timeframe, is there is anyone you think would
be able to serve in this capacity let us know.
The form that needs filling in is self-explanatory. How the IRP
Coalition might want to put forward nominees, take part in a Civil
Society Nomination Committee, or support those from other organizations
and networks is being worked out right now.
The final decision is taken in New York so there is a broad mobilization
to generate a slate of candidates that is as broad as it as deep to
reinvigorate the MAG who are instrumental in the annual IGF meeting
organization.
best
MF
