Hey everyone,

just a quick note to shed some light on which discussion list to use to discuss the "Charter of Human Rights and Principles on the Internet" document which is currently being drafted on the WIKI at address:

http://irc.wiki.apc.org/index.php/Charter_of_Human_Rights_and_Principles_on_the_Internet

The IRP list, irp at lists.internetrightsandprinciples.org is the general discussion list for the Internet Rights and Principles Coalition. Some discussion about the document drafting has taken place there, but some readers/followers of the list might not wish to take part in the drafting process at this stage, and other announcements/emails are also taking place on that list, so it was kindly suggested that another discussion list be used for the people taking part in the drafting of the document, and that's: rights at lists.apc.org

If you wish to discuss the drafting of the Charter, use: rights at lists.apc.org
You need to be subscribed to the "rights" list, in order to post there.
To subscribe, go to: http://lists.apc.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rights
Subscription enquiries are unmoderated, so you should be up and running in a couple of minutes, and will also be able to consult that list's archives to be up to scratch on what's going on.

Nobody is going to kill you if you post to the wrong list - it's just to make everybody's life more convenient by filling email boxes on the IRP list a little less.

Now about the WIKI drafting. Ideally, if you wish to contribute, discuss what you wish to add on the "rights" list beforehand. If it's all "cool", then add it yourself on the Wiki, in the correct section, but annotate the text by appending your i.n.i.t.i.a.l.s or name in italics.

The document's taking shape, so it's really exciting.

Warmest regards,

Olivier
