[IRP] monthly meeting 19th of March 17.00 GMT

I'll hopefully be attending.

I should also formally introduce myself to the group. I've been
following this list for the last year but have not actively participated
until now.

I'm a doctoral candidate at the London School of Economics in the law
department. Although my research interests are broader, my current
project focuses on the human rights responsibilities of the private
actors that control access, hosting and searching on the Internet. In
particular I'm examining the viability of corporate social
responsibility as a regulatory method to ensure protection of civil and
political rights as experienced on the Internet. If anyone is
interested in this further, I've just published a piece that approaches
the issue from a different angle examining whether search engines have
public interest obligations:
http://ijlit.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/17/1/113.

I look forward to contributing to the group and having discussions with
you all.

Kind regards,

Emily

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,

Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
