[IRPCoalition] IRPC at IGF 2019 in Berlin (onsite registration ends tomorrow!) and Steering Committee elections coming soon

I hope this email finds you well. The IGF 2019 is fast-approaching and we look forward to seeing you at our annual meeting. The registration for onsite participants ends tomorrow 1 November: still time to submit the registration form<https://reg.unog.ch/event/31208/>.

The IRPC Steering Committee has been busy preparing our participation at this year's IGF. Please join us on Wednesday 27 November for:

  *   the Annual IRPC meeting which includes an important and youth-led breakout session “Internet Futures and the Climate Crisis - Paths to Sustainability or Extinction?” and the launch of the French edition of the Charter  (11:30 - 13:00, Estrel Saal B)
  *   WS #282 Data Governance by AI: Putting Human Rights at Risk?<https://sched.co/SU22>, a high-level roundtable considers the relationship between AI and international human rights law and legal standards, co-organised with Amnesty International Germany (16:40 - 18:10, Raum II)

On Thursday 28 November please come along to the Dynamic Coalitions' Main Session, Dynamic Coalitions: Joint Efforts to achieve the SDGs <https://sched.co/SU44> <https://sched.co/SU44> (Main Hall),
where we will be discussing our work in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (achievements and plans towards 2025.

Some very good news is that we will have 7 translated versions of the Charter available in print at the IGF, thanks to the generous support of the The Swiss Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM). Unfortunately we still lack a space to display them on the first three days - our booth is only available for the 28th and 29th November: hopefully we will find a creative way to make them available to IGF attendees.
We will be sending more details  about our participation in the IGF in the next coming weeks; in the meantime, please feel free to contribute with feedback and suggestions.

Coming soon: IRPC Steering Committee elections
As the next IRPC Steering Committee elections approach, the current SC would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and input. From generous offers to translate the Charter (the Italian translation is now underway too), to the valuable help on the outreach effort to promote the Charter in different parts of the world, or the active contribution to discussions in various platforms and events, these are all joint efforts that keep the Coalition alive.

Earlier this year we restructured the Steering Committee and we have been involved in activities around the globe: from participation in national and regional IGFs, working on  local projects to promote the Charter and rights-based internet futures, to the observership to the Council of Europe CDMSI.  As the current co-chair of the IRPC, I am very grateful for the opportunity to contribute more directly to this collective work.

We will be opening the electoral process at our annual meeting on the 27th November, and will be sending more information on how to join.
