[IRP] IRP Digest, Vol 34, Issue 7

Hi All,

Sorry for not responding sooner. The Internet Rights and Principles
Coalition was added as a signatory to the letter from the international
human rights community a few days, I've just been at a conference the last
few days and therefore losing the fight with my inbox more than usual. The
most up to date letter can be found at: https://www.accessnow.org/stop-SOPA

While the first hearing on SOPA was on Wednesday, the actual vote on this
bill is some time away. I think it's important to show that there is
growing opposition to SOPA during this time. I should add that It's my
intention to redeliver the letter highlighting the new signatories in some
way when this legislation actually comes up for a vote. Depending on the
significance of any amendments, if there are changes to this legislation,
we'll probably just work from the same letter and then get edits approved
by the list. Given this, let me know if anyone on the list would be
interested in signing on. We'd greatly appreciate your support!

We'd also appreciate translations of the letter and are happy to
acknowledge the translators. If you're interested in doing this, please
email me first to make sure we don't unnecessarily duplicate efforts.

Again, thank you all for your support! I'll be in touch with updates when
there's something worth sharing.

Cheers,
Jochai
