I just wanted to share with you all the Kathmandu statement - in November a diverse group of civil society activists from across South Asia met for a few days in Kathmandu to discuss the main issues affecting internet freedom in the region and to think strategically about how to address these issues. The event developed on the regional meeting that Frank La Rue and OSI held before his "Freedom of Expression on the Internet" report, and fortunately, Frank was able to attend this meeting too!
As part of the meeting a statement was put together with the aim of building awareness about pressing regional issues impacting on internet rights; and also as a form of outreach - to let others know there is this regional collaborative network which is growing. In case anyone is interested - the statement is attached.

All the best,
Dixie
