Dear all,

We still have a couple of weeks left before the deadline to finalise the DCs Survey. It is quite a large document so I thought that we can start by adding input to the most substantial sections.

There is an important section on DCs activities and outputs that I am sharing below for discussion:

DCs activities and outputs

15. What mechanisms does your DC have in place to conduct its work?*

  * Discussions via the mailing list √

  * Regular online meetings √ (Steering Committee)

  *   Working groups

  *   Other. Please explain.

16. What type of activities is your DC usually undertaking?*

  *   Producing papers/books/other publications √

  *   Hosting events √

  * Other. Please explain. √ Participation as speakers at selected events

17. What types of outputs is your DC producing? Please provide links to exemplify.*

  * The Charter of Human Rights and Principles for the Internet<https://internetrightsandprinciples.org/charter/>
  * 10 Rights and Principles for the Internet<https://internetrightsandprinciples.org/campaign/>

  * The Charter of Human Rights and Principles for the Internet Educational Resource Guide <https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/the-charter-of-human-rights-and-principles-for-the-internet-educational-resource-guide-v2>

  *   Session outputs and reports<https://internetrightsandprinciples.org/category/reports/>

18. Please explain briefly how the DC is developing its outputs. (e.g. Who drives the process? How are members contributing? Does the DC hold wider open consultations beyond its membership? How are decisions being made?)*

The IRPC Steering Committee (IRPC SC) is the main driver of the process of developing outputs, but all IRPC SC activities are shared with the wider membership and decisions are made taking into account the feedback of the list.

Some outputs are led externally and in collaboration with the Dynamic Coalition, e.g., The Charter of Human Rights and Principles for the Internet Educational Resource Guide <https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/the-charter-of-human-rights-and-principles-for-the-internet-educational-resource-guide-v2> first developed by a group of students of Syracuse University in collaboration with members of the list.

Outputs such as the translation work (Charter and 10 Principles) have been often proposed by individuals or groups to the IRPC SC

19. Please explain briefly how the DC promotes its outputs (within and beyond the IGF context).

Outputs are shared and promoted via the list, on the IRPC website and through the IRPC social media channels. They have also been shared with the IGF secretariat and published via the IGF website. IRPC activities (sessions at the IGF, NRIs other IGF related activities and beyond are also part of the outreach effort to promote these outputs.

20. Do you think improvements are needed regarding the visibility of DCs outputs (within and beyond the IGF context)? If so, how do you suggest this could be done?

21. Do you have any concrete example to share as to how your DC output has made an impact?

22. What do you consider to be your DC’s most significant achievement?

23. Do you have any additional comments regarding your DC’s substantive activities (e.g. challenges met in developing the outcomes/conducting other activities and how they were overcome, good practices in carrying out the activities)?

It would be great to hear your views on these questions, particularly questions 20-23. I have drafted a few responses (highlighted in yellow) and happy to have your comments, edits there too.

Very best wishes,

Minda

Dear all,

I hope you had the chance to have a quick look at the DCs survey on Google docs<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zpD27O5UBKMmQlykQcmCjMkzOxDt4z-d/view?usp=sharing>.
Some questions are very straight forward, but the sections below would benefit from a wider discussion:

  *   DCs activities and outputs
  * DCs within the IGF framework
  * DCs and the future of the IGF

This is a great opportunity to have the DCs' voices heard and to help shape the future of the Dynamic Coalitions within the IGF environment. It also comes at a very crucial time for this Coalition as we mark the 10th anniversary of the Charter and reflect on achievements, challenges and prospects.

Feel free to comment on the document<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zpD27O5UBKMmQlykQcmCjMkzOxDt4z-d/view> or to reply to this email with your feedback.

Very best wishes,
Minda

Subject: [IRPCoalition] DC survey : Please add your comments by Monday 12 April

Dear all,

Following my last email, here is the link to the DCs survey on Google docs<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zpD27O5UBKMmQlykQcmCjMkzOxDt4z-d/view?usp=sharing>.

All Dynamic Coalitions are invited to participate in this survey, which is collecting input on the work of each DC. This will later feed into a DC paper that is being developed by the DC Coordination Group and the IGF Secretariat.

This must be a collaborative exercise with all members of the Coalition and you are invited to comment on the document by Monday 12 April the latest.

After that we will transfer the input on this document to the online form to be submitted to the IGF secretariat no later than April 25th.

Many thanks and very best wishes,
Minda
