Dear GigaNet colleagues,

As tech platforms have moved to increased automation of content
moderation amid the coronavirus pandemic, which the WHO has also labeled
an "infodemic" the need to understand the flow of information has never
been more crucial. A group of people invovled in content moderation
issues have drafted an open letter to tech platforms requesting that
they preserve data and content removal during covid-19 and make it
available to researchers and journalists. We understand there will be
privacy and access issues, but nonetheless we want to urgently call on
them to preserve data immediately. It seems like this is a critical
issue for the GigaNet community and I would invite you to
circulate widely and hope you can endorse what is just a simple and
basic letter to get this going asap.
