Dear IRPC Members:

CIPE, NDI and CIMA cordially invite you to a working group lunch during RightsCon to discuss a new initiative to create A Democratic Guide to Applying Internet Rights and Principles. With the rising tide of authoritarianism and online repression around the world, we feel that it is a critical time to take global norms on internet principles and find better ways to apply them in today's challenging global environment. In collaboration with a range of democratic advocacy groups at the local and international level, we hope to develop a guide that organizations can use in advocating for fundamental rights online. Ultimately, we hope to foster a global community of democratic advocates who can help preserve the internet as an active platform for democratic participation.

Using the IRPC's 10 Internet Rights and Principles<http://www.intgovforum.org/cms/dynamiccoalitions/72-ibr> as a jumping off point, we're drafting a document focused on how the high-level principles from the IPRC affect democratic societies. At this working lunch, we will share our ideas and we're looking to gather community feedback from esteemed colleagues, such as yourselves, who have experience in this area.

Take a break from RightsCon and join us for lunch at Rock Salt Chilli Peppers in Brussels on Thursday March 30th from 12:15-14:00. Space is limited to 20 people so RSVP as soon as possible using this Google Form<https://goo.gl/forms/LJYIgnWdBdVOOBQ93> - deadline is Monday March 27th.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Maiko Nakagaki at mnakagaki at cipe.org<mailto:mnakagaki at cipe.org>.

Cordially,

CIPE, NDI, CIMA
