Dear IRPC Members:
Back in March, CIPE, NDI, and CIMA sent out an email about our joint initiative to create A Democratic Framework to Interpret Open Internet Principles. This is a grassroots effort to frame the IRPC's 10 Internet Rights and Principles from a democratic lens to empower and improve the digital rights literacy of activists and CSOs in the Global South who are not already involved in the digital rights space. We had two rounds of in-person feedback from 30+ civil society members from around the world, and we now need your help!
Public consultation for the Principles is now open and we'd love to get your feedback. Please directly add your comments in the draft Principles here: http://bit.ly/2uIhUhO. We're looking for inputs regarding any of the definitions or examples in the document.
The public feedback is open until October 31, 2017.
Please feel free to share it with your colleagues and friends! We're looking for as much input as possible from the public. Likewise, we're also fostering a global community of democratic advocates who can help preserve the internet as an active platform for democratic participation. If you would like to get direct messages concerning this effort and our group, please let me know so that I can add you to our listserv.
Thank you, and please let me know (mnakagaki at cipe.org<mailto:mnakagaki at cipe.org>) should you have any questions!
Cordially,
CIPE, NDI, and CIMA
