Dear Marianne and all
Please confirm that you have received my self nomination to serve on the steering committee.
Just for the record, I only received this call for nominations on September 29, which was the last day it was open for call !!
I responded immediately within an hour or so and I hurriedly wrote a summary of my background!

Dear all,
Thank you for the nominations to stand as Co-Chair. Please see below for my profile.
I am a lecturer in law at Lancaster University in the UK. My research is in the area of Internet governance with a particular focus on accessibility and policies to support disabled people’s access to technology. I work in the area of standards development in accessible design and carry out research into the legal and policy environment relating to equal access. I am keen to make a tangible difference in relation to increasing access to technology and have organised engagement events with technology developers to promote the importance of accessibility in online design. I work with a number of campaign groups to promote access to technology for disabled people. I am the treasurer of the British and Irish Law, Education and Technology Association (BILETA) and carry out editing and review responsibilities for a number of academic law and technology journals. I am currently a member of the IRP steering committee; I spoke at an IRP workshop in Bali
and was active in furthering the work of the IRP and the Charter at the Istanbul IGF. I also promoted the Charter at the EuroDig event in Berlin. I will represent the IRP coalition at the International Disability Rights Affirmation Conference in early October. My vision for the Charter involves promoting the rights it enshrines in order to extend its influence as a tangible legal framework. I am dedicated to promoting the aims of the IRP Coalition and building upon the excellent progress made to date on the Charter. I feel that I am well placed to do this from both a legal perspective and through my links to access-focused activist groups. I am fully committed to strengthening the position of the Charter in order to protect the interests of end users in the online environment. This is a critical point for internet governance with a pressing need to develop strategies to restore trust. I believe that the work of the IRP and the framework provided
by the Charter will be crucial in ensuring that the rights and interests of end users are at the heart of policies relating to the Internet's future development.
