Dear all
An update and information for the IRP meeting on Sunday...
Please note that the meeting room that we are using has changed as there are more participants than we anticipated. We'll now be in the Eiger room at the EBU. The telephone number of the room for you to call when you arrive is 0041 22 7172394 ( or 022 7172394 if it's a local call). You can also still call me on my mobile.
Please find the agenda for the meeting attached. It's still flexible, so feel free to bring up issues that you'd like to discuss on the IRP wiki or by email or on the day. I've also attached a list of confirmed participants.
As you'll see from the agenda, a report on values, principles and rights and the Internet Rights Charter will form the basis for discussion in the first half of the meeting. I've attached the paper here, and you can download the current version of the charter here: http://www.apc.org/en/node/5677. <http://www.apc.org/en/node/5677>
In advance of the meeting, it would be great if you could have a think about the questions that we've raised in the agenda and come ready to discuss them. Please also come prepared to discuss:
- current initiatives you are working on
- what role you can play in helping to advance human rights on the internet and incorporate them into internet governance
- opportunities for collaboration and strategies for moving forwards.
For remote participants, Max will be sending out the link for the platform on Sunday when we start, so please check your emails then. There's also the opportunity for people who don't have good web access to phone into the conference at 15.00 and 17.00 GMT (see agenda). I've pasted instructions for joining the conference call below.
We look forwards to seeing you on Sunday.
All the best,
Lisa and Max.

Thank you for confirming your participation in the pre-Eurodig Internet Rights and Principles Dynamic Coalition meeting on Sunday 13th September at 12pm (midday).

Grand Saconnex - CH 1218
Geneva / Gen?ve
A map is here: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=L%27Ancienne+Route+17A,+1218+Grand-Saconnex,+Geneva,+Switzerland&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=11.2274,39.506836&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FbRwwQIdEXpdAA&split=0&ll=46.232815,6.126766&spn=0.006412,0.01929&z=16
IMPORTANT: As it is a Sunday, the EBU building will be closed. We therefore need to meet at the main entrance to the building at 11.50 am so that we can all go in together. Please be on time.
Some participants will be arriving at the meeting late. Please send me the exact time that you expect to arrive in advance. When you arrive, telephone me so that we can come and let you into the building. If you do not have a phone, please tell me and I can arrange a time to come and meet you. You can call one of the numbers below when you arrive:
FOOD & REFRESHMENTS: We will provide a light lunch during the meeting. Please let me know if you are vegetarian.
We are going for dinner after the meeting at 18.30 at the Caf? du Soleil restaurant (http://www.cafedusoleil.ch/). Please let me know if you would like to come so that we can confirm numbers with the restaurant. Dinner there costs around 40-50 Swiss Francs (US$40-50), and you will also need a small amount of money for a taxi.
We will send more information about the agenda and background reading later in the week.
Please let me know by tomorrow (Tuesday 8th September):
- What time you will arrive at the meeting.
- Whether you need vegetarian food.
- Whether you would like to come to the restaurant for dinner.
Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you soon, and to a productive meeting.
All the best,
Lisa and Max
